Jan Juc Bungalow

Project type:
Extension
Location:
Jan Juc

This project saw the addition of a bungalow at the rear of the property which is intended to be used as a short-term holiday rental in the heart of Jan Juc on the Surf Coast.

Nestled in the rear corner of the families backyard, the bungalow features a small kitchen area, bedroom, bathroom, entry and deck and is a hidden oasis from the family home.

From the moment you step into the backyard oasis your eyes are immediately drawn to the incredible structure, complete with 25 degree raked ceilings. The bungalow is clad in James Hardie Axon cladding painted in the much loved Monument grey to tie in with the Colorbond roof.

As you step inside the bungalow you are welcomed into a warm and inviting space finished with some of the finest selections and a personal favourite of ours – ply cladding on the ceiling and internal reveals on all of the doors and windows.

The kitchen and bedroom are designed to be open plan, divided by open shelving filled with knick knacks, books and other treasures from along the Coast. The bathroom is tucked away to the left as you enter the space, and is again a treat for the eyes with floor to ceiling tiling reflective of the ocean surrounds, and the space is completed by a Ofuro style tub – deeper than your average tub but shorter in length with a small step to sit on.

If that’s not enough, there is also an outdoor shower and concrete bath outside the bungalow to really soak in the scenery.
